I’m thrilled to share our latest kitchen renovation story with you. If you’ve been following along with us at Nestrs, you know that Nick and I are all about creating spaces that feel special—both for ourselves and for our guests. This time around, we tackled a big kitchen remodel in our home, and let me tell you, it was a labor of love. As with all our projects, we wanted to blend style with practicality, and that’s where our longtime partner, ZLINE, came into play.

The Microwave: Solving Our Space Dilemma

Let’s talk about space—because, let’s be honest, in any kitchen renovation, it’s at a premium. When Nick and I were brainstorming ways to maximize our countertop area, I kept coming back to the idea of a built-in microwave. I mean, who doesn’t love the idea of freeing up counter space, right?

We also added the optional trim kit, which makes the microwave blend seamlessly with our cabinets—just the custom touch we were after.

The best part? It’s super user-friendly. Nick and I have had our fair share of tricky appliances in past renovations, but this microwave is straightforward and intuitive. We won’t need to play the guessing game when heating up leftovers, and that’s a win in my book.

The 36” Stainless Steel Refrigerator: Room for All the Groceries

Okay, I have to admit—Nick was the one who fell head over heels for the ZLINE 36” Stainless Steel Refrigerator (RBIV-36). I mean, it’s a showstopper. But more than that, it’s practical. We’ve struggled with minimal fridge space in the past (especially around those big family holidays), so this time, we wanted to make sure we had plenty of room.

This fridge has a whopping 21.3 cu. ft. of space—plenty of room for everything from groceries to those extra drinks. And let me tell you, the LED lighting inside? It makes everything look so organized and bright, which is a huge plus when you’re digging around for that last slice of cake. And the ice maker? We love it. It’s the first time we’ve even ever had an ice maker (hello apartment life) and we cannot get enough. It’s the little things in life. 😂

For my Airbnb Hosts: this fridge is a game-changer. When people are on vacation or traveling, they appreciate not having to make multiple grocery runs, and with this fridge, they won’t have to. 

The Dual Fuel Range (RA36): My New Best Friend in the Kitchen

I’ve always said the stove is where the magic happens, and this ZLINE Dual Fuel Range (RA36) has quickly become my new best friend. I love the combination of gas and electric—it gives you that precise control on the stovetop while the oven ensures even baking every time. For someone like me who loves to experiment with recipes, this range is a dream.

And honestly, this range has been a big hit with our family and friends too. Everyone wants to take it for a spin! We’re obviously not opposed to this —we might be full fledged adults, but who doesn’t love a meal that you didn’t have to prepare yourself?

Range Hood Inserts: Keeping It Fresh

One of the things that really stood out to me when planning this kitchen was making sure it stayed fresh and inviting, no matter what was cooking. I’ve had kitchens in the past where smells tend to linger longer than they should (especially if we’re experimenting with spicy dishes!), so proper ventilation was a priority.

The ZLINE Range Hood Inserts has been a lifesaver. Not only do we love that we got to get creative, but it also works like a charm. Whether we’re cooking up a storm or just making a quick breakfast, this hood quietly does its job, keeping the kitchen smelling clean and fresh.

For any of you rental owners out there, I can’t stress enough how important good ventilation is. It’s one of those things that guests might not notice outright, but they’ll definitely appreciate it when they’re enjoying their meals without the lingering aroma of last night’s dinner.

The Touchstone Undercounter Refrigeration: Because Drinks Matter

Now, I have to give Nick credit for this one. He’s the entertainer in our family, and when he suggested adding a ZLINE Touchstone Dual Zone 44 Bottle Wine Cooler (RWDO-GS-24) to the kitchen, I wasn’t totally sold at first. But now? I can’t imagine our space without it.

Let’s be real—no one wants to spend a second washing dishes by hand. That’s why the ZLINE 24” Classic Dishwasher (DW-24) has been such a great addition to our kitchen. It’s powerful, efficient, and most importantly, quiet. We often find ourselves checking to see if the dishwasher is running – it’s that quiet! 

Nick and I both agree—this dishwasher is the unsung hero of our kitchen. It’s reliable and gets the job done without any drama.

After years of “house hacking” (living in the rentals we are renovating, moving out, renting them, and then doing it all over again) it’s things like having a dishwasher that make you feel like a full on adult and we’re here for it!
