20 Aug Nestrs Weekly Wrap Up – Ep. 1
Where Are We?
This is the question we get the most – and not just from our social media friends – a lot of our family can’t even keep track of us.
Since selling our NYC home on May 12th, 2017, we’ve been to
- Erie, PA
- Cleveland, OH
- Columbus, OH
- Chicago, IL
- Indianapolis, IN
- Tri Lakes, IN
- Linn Creek, MO
- Birmingham, AL
- Destin, FL
- Seattle, WA
We had a bunch of other stops we wanted to hit this summer, but because we found a property in Columbus, OH to purchase, we rearranged our plans.
We close on our first multifamily property on August 25 and we are the most excited! More on that next week!
So, to answer the question, we’re currently in Seattle, WA. Mostly to visit my sister and brother-in-law and to help them with projects they’ve been putting off since they purchased their home last year. They know what they like but they were having trouble figuring out how to put it all together.
We’ve been in Seattle for almost a month. The first week was spent visiting with our mom and aunt who were here running a marathon with my brother-in-law (he’s the one so humbly pointing at his medal).
After that, we got down to business ripping up Katelyn and Christopher’s soon-to-be open concept kitchen and living room.
Here is a picture of their space before we got our hands on it:

We’re obviously not done yet. We’re crossing our fingers we get everything done in time before we fly out of Seattle on a red-eye next Wednesday night. We’ve got so much to do and not much time to do it, as per usual. We feel like we’re back on Beach Flip.
This is our inspiration for their makeover:
We’ve got tons of other projects up our sleeves for this project. We’re building an 8′ x 7′ barn door, making two tables out of reclaimed wood, repurposing IKEA bars into pot and pan storage, and cladding a wall with tons of 1×6 planks from Home Depot.
You’ll have to check back next week to see if we were able to cross the finish line!
How about you? Where are you and what did you tackle this week?
